Operation Backpack Ministry

76.46% of children in Topeka Public Schools fall in the "economically disadvantaged" category according to the Kansas State Department of Education website (2011-2012 statistics.) That's close to 11,000 children right here in Topeka!

TNO is working to alleviate childhood hunger by providing OPERATION BACKPACK WEEKEND FOOD SACKS to students at all Oakland and North Topeka schools.  Sacks are distributed on Fridays or the day before a Holiday to ensure children have food EVERY day of the week.  This program supplements the free and reduced price meals at school  the students receive so they also have food on the weekends.

We need your help!
